Vermont Fall Foliage Tour
We have an early morning departure headed to Pennsylvania. We will overnight in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area and we will have a full Amish meal for supper tonight (included).
Breakfast included at the hotel, and we will head to New York with a stop at the West Point Military Academy. We will visit the Visitor Center and gift shop and we will pick up our professional tour guide for an informative tour of this incredible place. Our tour includes the Grounds of the Academy, Cadet Chapel and much more. Our next stop is Hyde Park, New York, home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site.
Overlooking the Hudson River on more than 700 acres, it was the birthplace and lifelong house of the nation’s longest serving President. The 1826 house remains almost exactly as it was at the time of Roosevelt’s death in 1945. President and Mrs. Roosevelt are buried here in the Rose Garden. We overnight in the Albany, N.Y. area.
Breakfast included at the hotel, and we leave this area headed to Vermont. Today we visit The Vermont Store in Weston for some great shopping. This is a, one of a kind general store that has everything. Our next stop today is in Woodstock, Vermont and we visit the Sugar Brush Farm a working Vermont farm where syrup is made, and we will be able to see how this is done and may even buy some to bring back. Late today we arrive in Stowe, Vermont for a (4) night stay. Supper is included tonight.
Breakfast included at the hotel, and we begin our day at the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream tour. Later today we visit Morse Farm Maple Sugar Works: Here you will also see how syrup is made in one of the most beautiful settings in Vermont. Plenty of time to shop for some wonderful products. This afternoon we visit the Rock of Ages Quarries and Factory, a 50 acre, 600-foot-deep active quarry. Next stop today is the Cabot Creamery Tour. You will see a video that tells the history of Cabot Creamery. After the video you will see the cheese being made and you will have time to sample different cheese. Supper included
Breakfast included at the hotel, and we pick up our step on guide for a tour of the area. We will visit the Trapp Family Lodge. The Sound of Music is the most successful American musical film ever made and in 1939, the Von Trapp family singers were on tour in the U.S. when they discovered Stowe, Vermont.
The area reminded them of the Austria they left behind. Our next stop is a Gondola ride to the Top of Stowe Mountain Resort. We will visit downtown Stowe for lunch on your own and shopping. Supper is also included tonight.
Breakfast included at the hotel and our first stop is the VT Teddy Bear Company. Our tour guide will offer a lot of teddy bear history in this fun heart touching tour. This is so much fun and there is plenty of time for shopping here. Lunch is own you own at the Church Street Experience in downtown Burlington, Vermont. This afternoon we visit the Shelburne, museum.
There is no museum like this. The museum consists of 25 buildings even includes a 3,500-piece, miniature circus and so much more. Tonight, we enjoy a dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Ethan Allen on Lake Champagne. A full dinner is served tonight as we cruise and enjoy this beautiful lake. What a way to end our incredible journey in Vermont. We return to our hotel for the night.
Breakfast included at the hotel, and we must say goodbye to this beautiful place. We have an exciting day as we travel home with some special stops along the way. We will overnight in Maryland.
Breakfast included at the hotel, and we head for home with so many wonderful memories of our trip. We arrive home late evening.
