Ohio Amish | Amish Country Theatre
DAY ONE: September 12, 2019
Today we travel to the World’s largest Amish Community – The Ohio Amish Country. On arrival we visit an incredible place, the Warther Museum. The world’s finest carver, Ernest Warther. Ernest Warther uses his special tools to carve ships, trains and all kinds of other carvings. Its carvings of wood and ivory into beautiful creation are referred by the Smithsonian as priceless works of art. You will be amazed at what you see here. A wonderful dinner is included tonight.
DAY TWO: September 13, 2019
After breakfast at the hotel (included), we begin our day at the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center to meet our step on guide. Our next stop is a guided history tour of the Cyclorama – a 265’ x 10’ painted mural. You learn the sequence of how the Amish and Mennonite groups were formed. We later shop at the bookstore where you can find cultural books and local cookbooks and crafts. We now take a scenic back roads tour on our way to an Amish Artisan Basket maker’s home. She is part of the Swarlzentruber Amish.
Next we visit an Amish bulk food store. Bet you will purchase some bulk candy!! For lunch we enjoy a beautiful meal in an Amish home. This will be a meal you will never forget. After lunch we will tour a few Amish homes and see a barn full of animals. We also take a short buggy ride and of course some time for gift shopping. Dinner and show tonight is included at the Amish Country Theatre. A fabulous high comedy variety show. We return to the hotel for the evening.
DAY THREE: September 14, 2019
After breakfast at the hotel (included), we board the motor coach and head for home. We will stop in West Virginia at the River Bridge and Gorge. The views are spectacular. We arrive home early evening.
