Kentucky Jewels Tour / Featuring “The Stephen Foster Story”
June 13, 2018 – This morning D&S Travel is proud to take our guest to be a part of Kentucky. We arrive in Lexington, Kentucky for the night.
June 14, 2018 – After breakfast at the hotel (included) we will arrive in Georgetown, Kentucky where we will tour the Toyota Manufacturing Plant. Here we will have a detailed tram tour of the assembly line where the Toyota, Avalon, Camry, and Venza are produced. Our next stop we visit Irish Acre Gallery of Antiques. This is a collection of treasures from around the world that will take your breath away. You will love this place and lunch is included today at the famous “Glitz”. This afternoon we tour a famous Kentucky Horse Farm. We will overnight in Louisville for the next three nights.
June 15, 2018 – Once we have breakfast at the hotel (included) we begin our day at Churchhill Downs and also visit the Kentucky Derby Museum which showcases everything from stunning hats and other fashions to exhibits about the famous Thoroughbreds that have graced the track. We visit the Louisville Slugger Museum and factory where the official bat of the Major League is crafted. This afternoon we visit the Frazier History Museum where we come face to face with some of the people and stories that changed the world forever. Tonight we take in a Broadway show at the Derby Dinner Playhouse.
June 16, 2018 – After breakfast at the hotel (included) we spend our day in Barbstown, Kentucky. Our first stop is the Willett Distillery that was established in 1936. This Distillery is one of America’s smallest independent family owned and operated in Bardstown. Bardstown is the Bourbon Capital of the World and it might be just fun to see how this operates. At lunch time today we board the “My Old Kentucky Home Dinner Train for a 2-hour adventure with lunch included. Tonight we take our seats in the My Old Kentucky Home State Park Amphitheatre for a performance of “The Stephen Foster Story”. This musical captures the spirit of Foster’s work, including such great songs “Camp Town Races”, “Oh Susanna”, and “Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair”. This wonderful show will be with you for a long time to come.
June 17, 2018 – After our included breakfast at our hotel, we must leave Kentucky and head for home with so many wonderful memories. We will have a few surprise stops on our way home.
